Sustainability Goals at ADIFE 2024 with New Partnerships and Industry Recognition

Agthia Group PJSC, one of the region’s leading food and beverage companies, made a significant impact at the 3rd Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE 2024), held from November 26 to 28 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). With participation from over 1,900 global companies and thousands of visitors representing 70 nationalities, the exhibition served as a premier platform to foster innovation, collaboration, and industry leadership. The Group leveraged the exhibition’s dynamic environment, which included the inaugural Global Food Security Summit and the 10th Abu Dhabi Date Show, to showcase its innovative solutions aligned with global food security and sustainability goals.

As Agthia continues to set benchmarks for growth, innovation, and sustainability, its participation in ADIFE 2024 also underscores the group’s ambitious growth agenda. Agthia signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Capital Catering, a leading supplier to Etihad Airways and ADNECthat designates Agthia as the exclusive supplier of water and food products, including plant-based water bottles, reinforcing both parties’ commitment to sustainability. This partnership exemplifies Agthia’s approach to fostering meaningful collaborations that align with its vision for a sustainable future.

Demonstrating its dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship, Agthia’s 100% recycled plastic pallet project, implemented at its Al Ain Water manufacturing plant, earned the prestigious Silver Award for Recycled Product of the Year 2024 at the Middle East Waste & Recycling Awards. This groundbreaking initiative has made a significant environmental impact by preventing 2,400 tons of material from ending up in landfills, incorporating 1,200 tons of locally recycled plastic to foster a circular economy, and conserving 15,000 mature trees annually. These efforts contribute to the absorption of approximately 300 tons of carbon dioxide, playing a vital role in global carbon sequestration. The award underscores Agthia’s innovative approach to sustainability and its commitment to driving measurable, positive change for the environment.

Alan Smith, CEO of Agthia Group, commented: “Our participation in ADIFE 2024 serves as an invaluable platform for Agthia to engage with industry peers, share insights, and explore collaborations that align with our vision for sustainable growth. By fostering strategic partnerships and driving innovative solutions, we continue to deliver world-class products that not only meet but exceed consumer expectations, solidifying our position as one of the fastest-growing companies in the region. This year, we are especially proud to have received multiple awards recognizing our sustainability initiatives, underscoring our unwavering commitment to creating a positive environmental impact. These achievements reflect Agthia’s dedication to leveraging our robust business model to reach greater milestones while contributing meaningfully to the economic, social, and environmental well-being of the communities we serve.”

Mubarak Al Mansoori, President of Snacking and Government Relations, added: “Engaging with government representatives, industry peers, and valued customers was a privilege, as these interactions strengthen relationships and ignite meaningful partnerships. We are proud to showcase our diverse and innovative product portfolio, tailored to meet the evolving needs of both local and global markets. With an unwavering commitment to shaping the future of the food and beverage industry, we aim to enrich the lives of our customers while contributing to a more sustainable future for generations to come.”
