Raya Logistics Expands Its Role in Talent Development Through Strategic Academic Partnerships

Raya Logistics, a key arm of Raya Trade and Distribution under Raya Holding for Financial Investments, has formalized strategic partnerships with the College of International Transport and Logistics at Smart Village—affiliated with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport—and Saxony Egypt University for Applied Sciences & Technology. This initiative is designed to cultivate top-tier talent, equipping future professionals with the specialized expertise needed to excel in the evolving logistics landscape.

By integrating advanced theoretical instruction with hands-on industry training, the initiative ensures that students gain direct exposure to warehouse operations, inventory optimization, and material handling within high-performance logistics environments. Training modules will be conducted at Raya’s state-of-the-art logistics facilities as well as within the academic institutions, offering students an immersive learning experience that bridges classroom concepts with real-world application.

Bassem Megahed, CEO of Raya Trade and Distribution, parent company of Raya Logistics, underscores the company’s vision: “Across our subsidiaries, talent cultivation is fundamental to our mission of driving technological transformation and achieving sustainability. Raya Logistics leads the way in elevating professional standards within the sector, and this collaboration strengthens our ongoing effort to prepare young professionals with the practical and technical acumen necessary to thrive in a competitive landscape. Equipping emerging talent with future-ready skills is instrumental in fostering industry innovation and fortifying regional and global competitiveness.”

Professor Iman Ahmed Ismail, Dean of the College of International Transport and Logistics at Smart Village, expressed the academy’s enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its significance in bridging academia with industry demands: “This collaboration represents a crucial step toward aligning educational methodologies with market dynamics. We are committed to delivering applied learning experiences that empower students with practical expertise, and Raya Logistics’ dedication to workforce development and logistics innovation is invaluable to our academic mission.”

Professor Mohamed Abdel Rahman, President of Saxony Egypt University for Applied Sciences & Technology, emphasized the university’s vision for academic excellence fused with hands-on industry immersion: “Saxony Egypt University is dedicated to redefining higher education through a synergistic approach that balances academic depth with real-world training. Our goal is to develop graduates who are not only intellectually proficient but also practically adept, positioning them as leaders in both domestic and international logistics sectors.”

“Our institution is anchored in the German Dual Education Model, which seamlessly integrates theoretical coursework with immersive field training inside corporate environments. This partnership with Raya Logistics is a cornerstone of that model, ensuring that students transition from academic foundations to industry expertise with fluidity and precision.”

“Raya’s previous training programs have already demonstrated their efficacy in preparing students for professional success. Expanding this collaboration enables us to introduce a new cohort of trainees who will undergo an intensive, high-caliber learning experience under Raya’s leadership, refining their readiness for the logistics industry and bolstering their competitive advantage.”

Raya Logistics is at the forefront of Egypt’s logistics ecosystem, delivering comprehensive, high-efficiency supply chain solutions. The company boasts a robust network of strategically positioned warehouses exceeding 150,000 square meters across Cairo, Alexandria, the Delta region, Upper Egypt, and Ain Sokhna, alongside a 65,000-square-meter container yard engineered to accommodate both empty and loaded containers. Its diversified fleet of over 150 vehicles ensures seamless cargo movement and last-mile distribution.
