SEKEM Extends Health Insurance Coverage to 40,000 Farmers Through Nice Deer Platform

In a landmark move that reflects both vision and responsibility, SEKEM has announced the extension of health insurance coverage to 40,000 farmers across its community. This step not only safeguards the wellbeing of thousands of individuals who form the backbone of Egypt’s agricultural sector, but also reinforces SEKEM’s commitment to advancing its mission through meaningful impact across its three foundational pillars: economic, social, and cultural development.
This ambitious initiative is being carriedش out through Ecohealth in Cooperation with EBDA (Egyptian Biodynamic Assoziation), SEKEM’s dedicated health arm, and digitally enabled by the Nice Deer Platform, Egypt’s leading InsurTech solution. By relying on Nice Deer, SEKEM is able to manage large-scale health coverage with unprecedented speed, intelligence, and transparency. The platform ensures that farmers gain access to medical care without delay, that processes flow seamlessly without the burden of paperwork, and that healthcare management becomes more efficient, connected, and future-ready.
This collaboration is not only a milestone for SEKEM’s community but also a testament to how advanced digital platforms can reshape the future of healthcare delivery in Egypt. With its AI-powered infrastructure, nationwide provider network of more than 8,500 pharmacies, clinics, labs, and hospitals, and capabilities spanning automation, medical approvals, fraud detection, and predictive analytics, the Nice Deer Platform enables organizations like SEKEM to turn complex administrative challenges into seamless, technology-driven experiences that scale with their vision.
Mostafa Medhat, CEO of Nice Deer, stated:
“We are proud to support SEKEM in such a bold and inspiring initiative. Extending health insurance coverage to 40,000 farmers demonstrates what can be achieved when a pioneering organization partners with technology built for impact. Through our platform, SEKEM is ensuring that access to healthcare becomes faster, more efficient, and truly empowering. This milestone showcases the role of InsurTech in translating vision into tangible progress at scale.”
Hatem Shafie, Managing Director of EcoHealth holding company
“At Sekem, our mission has always been to support the wellbeing of our farmers and their families. Extending health insurance coverage to 40,000 farmers through Nice Deer’s platform represents a major step forward in fulfilling that promise. Partnering with a reliable InsurTech provider like Nice Deer allows us to ensure not only wider coverage, but also a faster, more transparent, and more efficient healthcare experience for our community.”
Engy Shalash, Co-Founder and CMO of Nice Deer, added:
“This partnership embodies the essence of what we stand for at Nice Deer: listening to the real needs of organizations and delivering solutions that turn ambition into reality. By enabling SEKEM to extend healthcare to tens of thousands of farmers, we are not just digitizing processes, we are amplifying human impact. For us, this is the future of healthcare: where technology serves people, and scale becomes an opportunity to drive meaningful change.”
This milestone underscores SEKEM’s position as a leader committed to the wellbeing of its community, while highlighting how Nice Deer continues to serve as the trusted backbone for organizations seeking to transform healthcare access and set new standards for efficiency and scale in Egypt.
