Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security now smarter, more scalable and more secure

Kaspersky has introduced a major update to its Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security offering, bringing advanced capabilities that enhance security and monitoring for containerized environments. This latest version offers enhanced forensic features, and expanded runtime and orchestrator security measures, making it an essential tool for organizations managing large-scale container deployments.

A recent Kaspersky and ISG report, “Alleviating Cloud Migration Difficulties with Robust Hybrid-Cloud and Container Security”, highlights the growing reliance on cloud-native technologies among businesses. According to the report, 78% of organizations already use these technologies, with 43% planning to expand their adoption in the next two years. However, many organizations continue to face security challenges. Notably, 60% of respondents cited difficulties in identifying vulnerabilities and risks through continuous scanning, creating potential blind spots.

To help businesses overcome these challenges, Kaspersky has further strengthened its Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security (Kaspersky CWS) comprehensive offering. The update introduces enhanced forensic functionality, providing deeper insights into system events. This enables security teams to identify the risks, vulnerabilities, the source of an attack and monitor following events faster. Additionally, expanded file operation monitoring in runtime now allows companies to track actions such as file creation, modification, opening and saving, improving visibility into potential security risks.

Another key advancement is the orchestrator security problem analysis feature, which offers a comprehensive overview of security issues categorized by cluster and orchestrator. This enhancement provides insights into various aspects of security, including access control, orchestrator configuration, networking, workload security and secret management. To further strengthen protection, the update also introduces file threat protection for orchestrator nodes, ensuring a higher level of security for critical infrastructure.

To detect abnormal behavior across individual containers, groups and clusters, Kaspersky CWS now supports automatic container profiling for runtime. This improvement simplifies policy creation and strengthens overall security. Scalability of Kaspersky CWS has also been significantly improved, with the solution now supporting deployments of several thousand nodes, making it well-suited for large enterprises managing complex containerized environments.

In addition, the update introduces a new Light Agent for Windows within Kaspersky Hybrid Cloud Security (KHCS). This allows Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows (KESW) to operate in Light Agent mode, bringing it to feature parity with traditional/common KESW Agent and improving protection for hybrid cloud environments.

“As businesses continue to accelerate their adoption of cloud-native technologies, they face growing challenges in securing complex cloud environments. Threat detection, forensic analysis and runtime security must evolve to keep pace with modern cyber risks. With this update, Kaspersky Cloud Workload Security strengthens protection, providing deeper visibility, enhanced threat detection and greater scalability. Our goal is to empower organizations with the tools they need to confidently secure their cloud infrastructure while maintaining efficiency and compliance in an increasingly dynamic digital landscape,” says Anton Rusakov-Rudenko, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Cloud & Network Security Product Line at Kaspersky.
