Kaspersky reports a 43% increase in sales in Egypt this year to date, reflecting its commitment to supporting local organizations with advanced cybersecurity solutions. Building on 17 years of presence in the country, Kaspersky continues to deliver high-impact security offerings tailored to Egypt’s unique market needs, underscoring its dedication to safeguarding the nation’s digital landscape.
In 2024, Egypt ranked among the top 12 countries in the Global Cybersecurity Index by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), reflecting the nation’s advancement in digitalization, supported by initiatives like the ICT Strategy 2030 led by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). However, this rapid digital growth also brings new cybersecurity challenges and vulnerabilities. While Kaspersky’s telemetry reveals a decrease in overall attacks on Egypt thus far, specific threats persist, including a rise in ransomware, exploit attacks, and password-stealing malware persisting—stressing the need for continued vigilance and robust cybersecurity measures across the nation.
“Our participation in Cairo ICT is yet another example of Kaspersky’s dedication to the digital transformation of Egypt and our wider commitment to supporting local organizations,’’ said Rashed Al Momani, General Manager for the Middle East at Kaspersky. “Events like these allow us to connect with both customers and potential partners, while showcasing our solutions and product portfolio, tailored to address the unique challenges faced by organizations in the region. We’re proud to support Egypt’s progress and empower organizations to thrive within a secure, digital ecosystem.”
Continuing its commitment to the country’s digital future, Kaspersky is investing in education initiatives with several government and private entities in the region to educate on a range of topics, from child safety to cybersecurity skills for university students as well as capacity building for cybersecurity experts within multiple governmental entities. These initiatives aim to equip both those with basic knowledge and a solid IT background with essential cybersecurity skills. Through these efforts, Kaspersky is actively supporting the government’s ICT Strategy 2030 by nurturing a new generation of cybersecurity professionals ready to meet Egypt’s growing digital security needs, and contribute to a resilient, secure IT infrastructure.
