Momken and Mashreq Unite to Empower Women Returning to the Workforce

Momken For Her, an Egyptian company dedicated to creating equal career opportunities, and Mashreq, a leading financial institution in the MENA region, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at empowering women and fostering gender diversity in the professional landscape. This partnership, which underscores both organizations’ commitment to diversity and inclusion, aims to provide meaningful opportunities for women with career gaps through Mashreq’s “Reignite” initiative.

Through this collaboration, the two entities will focus on creating tangible career pathways for women who have experienced career breaks, particularly those seeking to rejoin the workforce. Central to this initiative is Mashreq’s “Reignite” program, which is designed to empower women with career breaks by offering tailored mentorship, professional development, and employment opportunities. Together, Momken For Her and Mashreq aim to bridge the gender employment gap, providing women with the tools and support they need to reignite their careers and thrive in today’s evolving job market.

As part of the collaboration, the event featured a series of interactive career coaching workshops, specifically designed to equip women with the skills and confidence needed to successfully re-enter the job market. These workshops offered personalized guidance on resume building, effective interview techniques, and strategies for adapting to today’s dynamic workplace environments, empowering participants to take the next step in their professional journeys with renewed confidence. Attendees also had the chance to submit their CVs directly to the recruitment team, gaining valuable access to potential roles within Mashreq.

Amr El Bahey, Chief Executive Officer of Mashreq Egypt, expressed the significance of the initiative, stating, “The ‘Reignite’ initiative embodies a transformative vision for workforce diversity by embracing individuals with diverse life experiences and helping them return to the job market. Our collaboration with Momken is a significant step in breaking down barriers, opening doors for women to reignite their careers and contribute their valuable skills and perspectives to our innovative and forward-thinking workforce. This initiative is about creating opportunities and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.”

Nevine Zakaria, Head of People & Intellectual Capital at Mashreq Egypt, added, “At Mashreq, we believe in the power of diverse perspectives. Through ‘Reignite’, we are not merely filling roles; we are cultivating an inclusive workplace where diversity drives innovation and fosters meaningful change. Our partnership with Momken empowers talented women to re-enter the workforce, enhancing their careers, strengthening our organization, and contributing to the growth of the wider community.”

Abeer Elleithy, Cofounder of Momken, shared her enthusiasm, saying, “This collaboration is about shifting perceptions and opening doors. Women returning to the workforce bring a wealth of experience and dedication that can have an incredible impact. Together with Mashreq, we are building a future where all career paths are celebrated and valued.”

Radwa Elattar, Cofounder of Momken, added, “Our partnership with Mashreq embodies a vision of inclusivity that honors the varied journeys people take. By empowering women to restart their careers, we’re setting a new standard for how the workforce embraces unique talents.”

This partnership between Momken and Mashreq marks a pivotal step toward greater workforce inclusivity, reframing career gaps as valuable life experiences that enrich the diversity and resilience of workplaces. This joint initiative not only underscores a commitment to gender parity but also aims to drive long-lasting societal change by integrating women back into the workforce, enhancing both individual lives and the economy as a whole.
