As desert driving season reaches its peak across the UAE, over 600 participants across more than 400 vehicles took part in a full day of adventure at the KT Desert Drive 2025 in Ras Al Khaimah last month. The event drew off-road enthusiasts, families, and first-time drivers alike, highlighting the growing popularity of organised desert experiences in the region.
Now in its seventh edition, the KT Desert Drive has grown steadily into one of the UAE’s most well-attended community desert events. Held against the sweeping dunes and varied desert terrain of Ras Al Khaimah, the drive reflected the UAE’s long-standing off-roading culture, which traces its roots to Bedouin traditions of navigating and surviving in the desert. Today, these skills have evolved into a seasonal pastime that combines adventure, exploration, and community engagement. Ras Al Khaimah’s landscape, ranging from rolling dunes to wide-open desert plains, offered an ideal setting for participants to test their skills while enjoying the natural beauty of the emirate.
Participants followed a carefully planned route designed to balance challenge and accessibility, allowing drivers to navigate confidently at their own pace. Professional marshals led the convoy, supported by recovery teams, on-site medical services, and clearly marked checkpoints. A navigation app enabled real-time tracking and safety monitoring, ensuring a smooth experience for both experienced drivers and newcomers. Attendees praised the event’s organisation, the clarity of communication, and the sense of camaraderie that permeated the convoy throughout the day.
The event concluded at a desert base camp, where participants and their families enjoyed music, family-friendly activities, cultural performances, fire shows, and a gala dinner under the stars, extending the excitement well into the evening.
The KT Desert Drive 2025 was presented by 212 by Legend Motors, with Bridgestone as the Official Tyre Sponsor and Dubai Off-roaders powering the experience. Additional support was provided by Valvoline, Amaron, RAK Properties, JK Diary, Al Shalal, and Zaitoona, while The Dunes Camping & Safari served as the official venue partner.
