Q Cairo Marathon Wraps Up as Egypt’s Largest Marathon

The Q Cairo Marathon, the largest running event held within Cairo, concluded successfully with the participation of more than 5,000 runners of different ages and of both sexes. The event was sponsored by Q Developments as the Title Partner, in a festive sporting atmosphere that reflected the spirit of challenge and positive competition, and highlighted the growing role of sports in promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement.

The marathon was preceded by a series of preparatory activities, including the Q Cairo Marathon Hub, a three-day pre-event exhibition held at February, aimed at preparing participants and familiarizing them with the different race routes, alongside various interactive and sponsor-related activities. The main race took place at February, around the iconic Merryland Park in Heliopolis, in what is considered the largest event of its kind in Cairo.

The marathon featured several races catering to different fitness levels and age groups, including the 21 km race, 10 km race, 5 km race, and a family race, allowing wide participation from professionals, amateurs, and families in a distinctive sporting atmosphere.

The event concluded with the crowning of winners and the distribution of commemorative medals and cash prizes by Mr Bassam Sherif Helew, Chairman of Q Developments. In the 21 km race, the first-place winner received a gold medal and a cash prize of EGP 10,000, in addition to running shoes and a G-SHOCK watch. The second-place winner received a silver medal and EGP 7,000, along with running shoes and a G-SHOCK watch, while the third-place winner received a bronze medal and EGP 5,000, in addition to running shoes and a G-SHOCK watch. These prizes were awarded in both the men’s and women’s categories.

In the 10 km race, the first-place winner received a gold medal and a cash prize of EGP 6,000, along with running shoes. The second-place winner received a silver medal and EGP 4,000, in addition to running shoes, while the third-place winner received a bronze medal and EGP 2,000, along with running shoes, in both the men’s and women’s categories.

Q Developments expressed its appreciation for the important role played by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in supporting and sponsoring such major sporting events, as well as its effective organizational role in delivering the marathon in a distinguished and civilized manner that reflects the Egyptian state’s commitment to encouraging community sports and promoting a healthy lifestyle across different segments of society.

The company’s sponsorship of the Q Cairo Marathon comes as part of its commitment to supporting sports and health-related activities as an essential component of its social responsibility. This emphasizes the importance of sports in improving quality of life, a vision that is clearly reflected in the company’s real-estate projects, which are designed with open spaces and integrated facilities that encourage sports and a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

The company also commended the significant organizational efforts of Cairo Runners, the event’s organizing body, for delivering a high level of professionalism in planning and execution, contributing to the success of the event and its presentation in a manner befitting its scale and status as the largest marathon held in Cairo.

The organization of this major sporting event comes as part of Q Developments’ vision to support large-scale sports initiatives and contribute to the creation of sustainable community events that enhance quality of life and reinforce Cairo’s position on the regional sports events map.
