Pharco participated in the fifth edition of Africa Health ExCon 2026, highlighting its latest initiatives and innovations in support of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Egypt and the wider region, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing healthcare access and driving industry development.
On the sidelines of the exhibition and conference, Pharco and Saudi German Hospital Egypt signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during Pharco’s participation in the fifth edition of Africa Health ExCon 2026.
In addition, Dr. Ali El Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), visited the company’s booth, where he was briefed on Pharco’s key pharmaceutical products and healthcare solutions.
In a separate visit, Professor Emile Bienvenu, Chairman of the Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority, toured the company’s booth and reviewed its latest products and services that contribute to supporting and advancing the healthcare sector.
This partnership reflects a shared vision to shape the future of healthcare in Egypt, setting new standards through the integration of pharmaceutical innovation, advanced clinical expertise, and cutting-edge scientific knowledge, with a primary focus on addressing patients’ needs and improving treatment outcomes.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is anchored in three strategic pillars. The first focuses on advancing scientific research and healthcare excellence through the establishment of an integrated scientific platform encompassing continuous medical education programs, modern training methodologies for healthcare professionals, scientific conferences and seminars that bring together local and international experts, and ongoing knowledge-sharing initiatives. These efforts aim to empower physicians to make evidence-based treatment decisions, ultimately enhancing the quality of care and delivering measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
The second pillar focuses on localization and regional expansion by leveraging Pharco’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, state-of-the-art facilities in Egypt, and more than 50 years of industry expertise to support healthcare localization and expand access to high-quality pharmaceutical solutions across North Africa, while capitalizing on Egypt’s strategic position as a regional hub for manufacturing and exports to neighboring markets.
The third pillar is dedicated to commercial excellence and market leadership through the integration of Pharco’s pharmaceutical expertise with the strong medical network and clinical capabilities of Saudi German Hospital Egypt, enhancing patient access to effective treatment solutions and strengthening leadership across key therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, neurological disorders, and anti-infectives.
Commenting on this collaboration, Dr. Sherin Helmy, Chairman of Pharco Board of Directors, stated: “At Pharco, we believe that strategic partnerships are more than conventional agreements; they represent a national and regional responsibility toward advancing the future of healthcare in Egypt and across the region. Our partnership with Saudi German Hospital Egypt marks a significant step forward in our approach, bringing together the strength of advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing, outstanding clinical expertise, and cutting-edge scientific knowledge to deliver an integrated healthcare experience for patients in Egypt and beyond.
For more than five decades, Pharco has remained committed to playing a leading role in providing high-quality medicines across Egypt and the region. We are equally committed to collaborating with leading healthcare institutions and organizations that share our vision and ambition to improve healthcare outcomes and create lasting value for patients.”
The partnership aims to empower medical professionals through continuous education, support pharmaceutical localization to reduce import dependency, and expand Egyptian medicines across regional markets, leveraging Pharco’s sustained investments in research and development, digital transformation, and leadership in biological treatments and specialized medical nutrition.
This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to advancing innovation and collaboration across the healthcare sector, empowering healthcare professionals, and delivering advanced therapeutic solutions that contribute to improving quality of life and enhancing the sustainability of healthcare systems in Egypt and the wider region.
With a portfolio of more than 250 products and a longstanding leadership role in Egypt’s pharmaceutical industry, Pharco, together with Saudi German Hospital Egypt and its extensive medical network and exceptional clinical expertise, forms a powerful alliance well-positioned to drive meaningful and lasting impact across the healthcare landscape.
Pharco operates state-of-the-art production lines and advanced manufacturing technologies that ensure world-class quality across a broad portfolio of therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, neurological disorders, anti-infectives, gastrointestinal diseases, and pain management, in addition to specialized solutions in medical nutrition and biologic therapies.
