Egypt Innovation Week 2025 Transforms Regional Tech Landscape

Techne unveiled today Egypt Innovation Week, marking a pivotal evolution in the nation’s approach to technological advancement, expanding beyond traditional summit formats to create a comprehensive, community-driven initiative. Announced today at the press conference hosted by the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo, this inaugural week-long series will run from September 26 through October 6 and highlights the strong international partnerships supporting Egypt’s innovation ambitions.
The Embassy of Sweden’s support as the venue for today’s announcement underscores the ongoing collaboration between The Swedish Embassy and Techne. Its role as a partner signals an active investment in Egypt’s innovation and entrepreneurial growth. This diplomatic launch reflects the global character of this year’s initiative and the collaborative framework that differentiates Egypt Innovation Week from previous Techne Summit formats.
“Sweden is consistently ranked among the world’s most innovative nations, this year ranking first in the most innovative countries in the EU, and second in the most innovative countries in the World. We are proud to see Swedish companies such as Ericsson, Smart Eye and Söderhub driving advancements in artificial intelligence. Through our collaboration with our partners in Egypt, we aim to support and strengthen Egypt’s growing innovation culture and foster connections to the Swedish innovation landscape. Through this year’s launch of Egypt Innovation Week, consisting of Techne Summit Cairo and Alexandria, we are happy to continue supporting Techne Summit Alexandria, as we do since 2016, with the successful yearly competition, this year focusing on AI. The competition is a perfect platform to foster new ideas, partnerships and solutions that can benefit both our countries.” ~ H.E. Ambassador Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt
Egypt Innovation Week 2025 operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT), Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Digital Economy and Technology General Division (DETGD), and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), ensuring government-level support for the expanded initiative.
The events will gather over 60,000 participants across the whole week from 70 countries, more than 400 speakers, 250 investors, and 1,500 startups
Egypt Innovation Week launches with the Annual Investors Congress on September 26, followed by the Opening Ceremony in Cairo on September 29 at Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace. The schedule features major signature events, including Capital Connect by Alex Angels on September 29, then Techne Summit Cairo on September 30 and “Biofuel: Science of Healing” on October 1, a specialized healthcare event, aiming to ignite the future of medicine. The journey concludes with Techne Summit Alexandria from October 4-6 at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, drawing national and international audiences to Egypt’s major innovation centers.
Egypt Innovation Week 2025 is one of the largest and most influential technology gatherings in the Middle East and Africa, an initiative launched for the community, built by the community. It serves as a broader umbrella gathering more than 20 events across the country throughout the week, organized independently by different entities such as Deloitte, Roche, Valu, UnTap, Homzmart, Sia Space, AskLex, DDS, ZCircle, UFM, EdVentures and more, bringing all innovation efforts together in one place.
“Egypt Innovation Week is more than just a series of events… It’s a movement created for the community and curated by the community. I’m thrilled to see this initiative serve as a unifying umbrella for all those passionate about innovation. It’s a platform where everyone in the ecosystem can come together, share ideas, and drive forward the innovative spirit that defines our future.” ~ Tarek El Kady, Founder and CEO Techne.
Techne Summit features comprehensive workshop programming with 130 workshops between Techne Cairo and Techne Alexandria. Business Pass holders and above will gain access to all these workshops, aside from 1-on-1 mentoring sessions, AI-powered matchmaking tools for networking, and exclusive Techne night events.
The summit will feature thirteen thematic tracks, including EdTech, Corporate Innovation, Architecture and Design, Investment and Venture Capital, E-Commerce, Sports Technology, Gaming, HealthTech, FinTech, Marketing and Media Technology, Startup Innovation, Food Tech, and Legal Tech. Each track enables stakeholders to dive into sector-specific innovations and market opportunities, while fostering direct dialogue between entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders.
It brings together key partners including Meta, Aria Ventures, Juhayna, DXWand and Dimofinf Digital Solutions (DDS Technologies), creating a comprehensive platform for regional collaboration and sectoral leadership.
Meta’s partnership includes hosting a strategic AI policy roundtable focused on governance frameworks, government-private sector partnerships, and AI for innovation and society. Additionally, Meta’s Llama Design Drive – AI Agent Accelerator will spotlight 5 high-potential startups from Egypt, who will pitch their innovations on September 30 at Ghurnata Community Space. The winning startups will secure their place in the regional pitchathon in Dubai later this year, competing against the most promising ventures from across the MENA region.
Egypt Innovation Week 2025 sets a new benchmark for regional collaboration, community engagement, and sectoral leadership.
