Umm Al Emarat Park and Tadweer Group are marking the kick-off of a community-centred activation inviting residents and families to help build a record-attempting mosaic from recycled plastic bottle caps. Taking place from 8 to 12 December, the five-day programme combines creativity and environmental awareness, highlighting the powerful role communities play in shaping a greener future for Abu Dhabi.
Visitors will be able to take part in placing thousands of recycled bottle caps onto a striking 25-square-metre pattern inspired by universal recycling symbols. The initiative takes place at Umm Al Emarat Park with two daily slots running from 9:00am to 12:00pm and from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. Entry will be complimentary during these timings only, and registration is required in advance via the registration link
This engaging experience encourages families to enjoy time together outdoors while contributing to a sustainability initiative that celebrates collective action and supports the UAE’s focus on community values this year. The activation forms part of the wider “Cap Your Way to Sustainability” campaign launched earlier in partnership with Tadweer Group, which saw local schools and partners gather materials in support of environmental education.
The event aligns with the UAE’s wider sustainability objectives and reinforces the role of families and young people in shaping a cleaner future for Abu Dhabi. It also reflects the Park’s ongoing commitment to delivering educational and interactive initiatives that bring the community together to learn, create and support a greener society.
This campaign also aligns with Tadweer Group’s efforts to shift the community’s behaviour towards waste as a valuable resource. Further, this reinforces the organisation’s firm belief that we are all responsible for managing our waste appropriately for a greener future.
