Kyndryl has appointed Maged Wassim as Vice President and Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), as organizations across the region accelerate efforts to modernize their technology infrastructure and scale artificial intelligence across their businesses.
In his new role, Wassim will lead Kyndryl’s operations across the MEA region, focusing on strengthening relationships with customers and partners and supporting organizations in developing long-term technology transformation strategies.
He will work with Kyndryl’s regional teams to help customers modernize mission-critical technology environments and build the skills, operating models and organizational capabilities needed to adopt AI securely and responsibly.
“Organizations across the region are moving decisively from AI adoption to enterprise-wide transformation,” Wassim said. “The opportunity now is to make AI a core driver of business performance by modernizing mission-critical environments, unlocking the value of enterprise data and building the capabilities to scale AI securely and responsibly.”
Wassim joins Kyndryl from Cognizant, where he served as Vice President for the Middle East. He previously held a senior technology leadership role at one of the region’s leading retailers, overseeing technology strategy and large-scale transformation initiatives.
Before that, Wassim spent two decades at IBM, where he held several leadership positions, including Vice President of IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software. His experience spans cloud adoption, data and AI, technology strategy and large-scale digital transformation.
Wassim holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Capital University, formerly Helwan University, in Cairo, and a Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing Systems from Brunel University London.
The appointment comes as companies across the Middle East and Africa increasingly shift from AI adoption toward broader enterprise transformation, with cloud, data and agentic AI becoming key components of their technology strategies.
