Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other airline, has announced the expanding of the codeshare agreement with Air China.
At the opening ceremony of the 4th China Air Transport Association (CATA) Aviation Conference & Exhibition held in Beijing today, Turkish Airlines and Air China officially signed an agreement to expand their codeshare cooperation, deepening the partnership between the flag carriers of Türkiye and China.
Building on the freesale codeshare arrangement introduced in June 2024 that initially covered flights between Istanbul and Beijing, the expanded agreement now brings all direct trunk routes between Türkiye and China, along with selected domestic services beyond Beijing and international services beyond Istanbul, under the two airlines’ codeshare partnership. As fellow members of Star Alliance, Turkish Airlines and Air China have continued to strengthen this cooperation, with connectivity and transfer services between their two hubs improving steadily.
Under the new agreement, Turkish Airlines’ guests will be able to travel beyond Beijing to a wider selection of destinations within Mainland China, including Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Qingdao. Air China’s guests, in turn, will benefit from additional onward connections through Istanbul to Ankara, as well as to destinations across Africa, including Accra, Lagos, Marrakesh, Dar es Salaam, Algiers and Tunis with Latin America, including Cancun and Mexico City, all served by Turkish Airlines.
With flights bookable under a single ticket across both networks, the expanded partnership offers guests of both airlines greater choice and more seamless connections when planning their journeys between China, Türkiye and beyond.
Looking ahead, Turkish Airlines and Air China plan to extend their codeshare cooperation further to newly launched direct routes between Türkiye and China, continuing to build on this strategic partnership and support closer trade, tourism and cultural ties between the two countries.
