In a strategic move set to reshape Syria’s maritime and logistics landscape, DP World has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth USD 800 million with the General Authority for Maritime and Land Ports of Syria. This milestone agreement marks a major step toward revitalizing Syria’s trade infrastructure and boosting its role as a regional and global commerce hub.
Under the MoU, DP World will invest in the development, management, and operation of a state-of-the-art multi-purpose terminal at the Port of Tartous, significantly enhancing the port’s efficiency and operational capacity. The partnership goes beyond port development. Both parties have agreed to collaborate on establishing industrial zones, free zones, inland ports, and cargo transit hubs across several strategic locations in Syria.
