DP World, the operator of Sokhna Port within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, proudly welcomed the visit of H.E. Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore, along with a high-level official delegation, as part of His Excellency’s official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The delegation included H.E. Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development; H.E. Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Health; and H.E. Dominic Goh, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Cairo. Also in attendance were members of parliament, senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, and Social Development, together with representatives from Singaporean economic and educational institutions.
From the Egyptian side, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Egypt’s Minister of Education; H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Mostafa, Egypt’s Ambassador to Singapore; H.E. Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone; and a number of senior executives from the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority joined the visit, underscoring its for bilateral relations.
The visit reaffirmed Sokhna Port’s role as a pivotal hub for trade and logistics in the region. DP World is a strategic partner of the Suez Canal Economic Zone in strengthening Egypt’s position as a primary gateway to global trade.
During the tour, the President and his delegation were introduced to the port’s ongoing development and infrastructure projects, reflecting DP World’s commitment to enhancing efficiency.
