Frigoglass Group, a leading producer of high-quality commercial coolers and glass packaging solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mohamed Gabr as General Manager for Frigoglass Egypt. In this role, Mohamed will oversee both manufacturing and commercial operations, spearheading the Group’s strategic expansion in Egypt and across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Mohamed brings over two decades of leadership experience across FMCG and consumer goods sectors, with expertise spanning production, LEAN management, sales, and business development. His career includes senior roles at Ferrero Egypt, Whirlpool, MARS, and Halawa Group, where he successfully scaled businesses and navigated complex market environments. Mohamed holds an MBA from ESLSCA Business School and a BSc in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from Suez Canal University. He is also a certified Lean Master Trainer and Six Sigma Black Belt.
Frigoglass Egypt is central to the Group’s ambitions in the MENA region, serving as a springboard for innovation and customer service excellence. Following the strategic partnership with Fresh S.A.E announced in 2024, Frigoglass is leveraging local manufacturing capabilities to deliver world-class commercial coolers with faster lead times and enhanced distribution. The Group aims to expand production capacity to 100,000 coolers annually by 2028, reinforcing its commitment to dynamic growth and operational efficiency.
Egypt’s market fundamentals underscore this strategy – the fridges and freezers market in Egypt is projected to grow from $2.27 billion in 2024 to $4.33 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 11.3%, driven by urbanization and rising middle-class demand for energy-efficient appliances. At the same time, the food and beverages sector in Egypt is expected to grow at 4.9% CAGR through 2031, fuelled by changing consumption patterns and expanding retail channels. Across MENA, the cold chain market is forecast to reach $41.1 billion by 2030, reflecting surging demand for perishable goods and advanced refrigeration solutions.
Serge Joris, CEO of Frigoglass Group said: “We are delighted to welcome Mohamed Gabr to lead our operations in Egypt. His proven track record in scaling businesses and driving operational excellence aligns perfectly with our vision for growth in MENA. Egypt is a vibrant market with immense potential, and under Mohamed’s leadership, Frigoglass Egypt will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative cooling solutions to our customers across the region.”
