The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) hosted a Canadian business delegation from the Canada Egypt business council to explore new opportunities for investment and enhance bilateral economic cooperation between Egypt and Canada.
During the meeting, GAFI delivered a comprehensive presentation on Egypt’s investment climate, highlighting the country’s strategic location, competitive advantages, and targeted priority sectors, as well as the Investment Map showcasing for public and private investment opportunities across various sectors.
The delegation was also introduced to the services provided by the Investor Service Center (ISC), which offers streamlined procedures for company establishment, licensing, , a through a digital one-stop shop platform.
Participants discussed Egypt’s different investment schemes, including free zones, investment zones, technology zones, and special economic zones, along with available incentives and facilitation measures for foreign investors.
The Canadian delegation raised several inquiries regarding Egypt’s investment regulations, including the Golden License, procedures for company establishment, and the framework governing obtaining Egyptian citizenship through investment.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion session, followed by a guided visit to the Investor Service Center, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to supporting Canadian investors and strengthening bilateral investment relations.
